''Actinotia polyodon'', the purple cloud, is a moth of the Noctuidae family. It is found in much of the Palearctic ecozone, from Europe to Russia and Japan. The scientific name ''polyodon'' is derived from the Greek words ''poly'' (much) and ''odontos'' (tooth) and refers to the tooth shapes along the costa. The wingspan is 31–36 mm. Adults are on wing from May to August in two generations. At times there is a partial third generation from September to October. August to September in one generation.
